    Description

    Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery floral candlestick in their signature matte blue green glazes. It has a nicely carved sprays of flowers with yellow centers repeated 3 times around the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws.   It measures 7 1/8 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest point.  Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, JM for the potter Joseph Meyer, AFS for decorator Anna Frances Simpson, and date code HN74 for 1915.  A fine example of the quintessential southern art pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
